According to the Galo people (Northeast India) the progenitor of all humankind was Rɨnii, and the various races and tribes are descended from his sons Niitoo, `Niimə, `Niinur, `Niipak, Nɨɨbo, etc. And he is the brother of Rɨkii, the progenitor of demons, spirits and animals. And they both were begotten by Tuurɨ, the seventh entity in the universe.

And Tuurɨ was begotten by `Hintuu, the sixth entity in the universe.

And `Hintuu was begotten by `Miihin, the fifth entity in the universe.

And `Miihin was begotten by `Jimii, the fourth entity in the universe.

And `Jimii was begotten by Maaji, the third entity in the universe.

And Maaji was begotten by `Poomaa, the second entity in the universe.

And `Poomaa was begotten by `Opoo, the first entity in the universe.

And `opoo means, in Galo, ‘1 • rice beer, made from filtering heated water through fermented rice; 2 • liquor or alcoholic drink of any variety’.
