When tç is in a word (and it appears quite frequently) the student should pray that God have mercy on his pronunciation because the word is very difficult, and its pronunciation is not to be found in any other language.

The particle gana when it is placed after a noun indicates a wish for the thing specified by the noun; e.g., saqe gana 'oh! sake'; and if one is asked if he would like something to drink, the answer is nani gana 'would that I had some.'

I take it Lithuania wasn't very popular with the Japanese as a destination for tourism during the Tokugawa period. (Then again, they weren't allowed to travel abroad anyway.)
