O uso do substantivo господинът ‘o senhor’ como pronome do tratamento cortês (com a 3ª pessoa do singular) foi registrada hoje numa loja de telefones e computadores portáveis e câmeras digitais, no centro de Sófia. Ouvi-o duma vendedora.

‘O senhor deseja? Tem-se orientado o senhor por algum modelo concreto? Que tipo de telefone portável o senhor usa?’ E assim muitas vezes em seqüência.

Eu respondia tratando-a simplesmente por vós. Se dizesse ‘a senhorita’, pareceria um escárnio. E não posso dizer com certeza se aprovo de tal inovação na etiqueta do discurso.
